Tour Features

Neuquén province is located in the northwest of Patagonia. The area is mostly covered in vast arid steppes, hills and mountains with the presence of one of the more unique and interesting landscapes on the slopes of the Andes mountains, the Patagonian forest, a temperate ancient forest with a high number of endemic birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and plants.

During our trip we will visit the three most important habitats for wildlife and specially for birds on the province, the Patagonian steppe, Patagonian forest and the andes mountains and lakes.

Volcanoes, glaciars, lakes, wetlands, deserts, forests and rivers are some of the landscapes that we will visit looking for the Patagonian endemic birds and some of it’s wonderfull mammals and reptiles as well. We will visit three national parks, Lanin, Laguna Blanca and Nahuel Huapi, we will look for aquatic birds on nine different lakes and lagoons and we’ll walk through forests populated with trees that are a thousand years old.

The main interest of this area for naturalists are the endemic birds from the forest and the steppe as well as some of the most amazing trees, cactus and orchids from the southern cone of south America.

Whether you want to see all the diversity of species that Patagonia has to offer or just the most rare species that can be found nowhere else, this is certainly one of the most amazing destinations fot birdwatchers and naturalists in all of Patagonia.
