Mammal Tours

“Mammals have always been the focus of attention for naturalists traveling to places like Africa, but in the last few years, more and more nature travelers have shifted their attention to the Neotropics, due to their wide variety of not just land, but also marine mammals. Latin America’s vast and varied habitats, ranging from rainforests to grasslands and wetlands, and from endless seashores and islands to the mighty Andean range, are home to a wide array of iconic species including Jaguar, Giant Otter, Tapir, Puma, Southern Elephant Seal and Orca to name but a few.”

According to Mammal Diversity Database (MDD), there are roughly 1,617 species of mammals in the Neotropics, making of this region the one with the highest number of species on Earth, followed by the Afrotropical region with 1,572.

Trogon Tours has pioneered mammal watching and photography tours since the early 2000s, taking nature travelers to the most spectacular mammal hotspots in the Neotropics, including the Brazilian Pantanal, mighty Patagonia and many others.
